La Grande Table Marocaine @ Royal Mansour, Marrakech, Morocco
With its home at Royal Mansour (owned by the King of Morocco), and under the supervision of French, three-Michelin-star Chef, Yannick Alleno, we just knew this dining experience would be incredible, and it surpassed all expectation. The ambient lighting sets the tone, as does the phenomenal white glove service: but it’s the contemporary twist to the cuisine and the stunning use of flavours that really bring all your senses to life. For our main dish, my husband and I shared the Royal Mansour Seafood Platter – Blue Lobster, Spiny Lobster, Royal Prawns, Inkfish and Clams Tagine – and was some of the finest seafood we’ve ever tasted.
Estancia La Bamba de Areco, Las Pampas, Argentina
La Bamba is one of the oldest Estancias in the heart of Las Pampas, just an hour’s drive from Buenos Aires. Being a member of Relais & Chateaux, it goes without saying it’s a must for foodies visiting this area. And lunch (a traditional Argentinian barbeque – served around a large table where all guests dine together) – is an experience that’s not to be missed. Not only do you get to enjoy the most incredible steaks with a selection of salads and potatoes, all washed down with delicious Argentinian red wine (I’m not usually a red wine drinker but was certainly converted during my time in Argentina!), and followed by fresh fruit crepes made on the stove in front of you, but you can swap travel tales with your fellow diners, and enjoy the Estancia’s traditional gaucho show with daring horsemanship and equestrian games. Fabulous.
